EADS will utilise Cambridge ESOL’s BULATS (Business Language Testing Service) across the whole organisation to provide a rapid and accurate assessment of its existing and potential employees’ language capabilities.
Jantje Bartels, Learning Expert within the International Hub of EADS Learning Services in Toulouse comments: “Working in a global environment means we must ensure our employees can engage with colleagues, customers and suppliers effectively. Our partnership with a well established brand as Cambridge ESOL ensures that we have a language assessment tool which is bespoke to EADS, but simultaneously flexible and reliable.”
Recently adopted by the UK Border Agency and other businesses and training organisations across Europe, the Far East and Latin America, BULATS provides EADS with a rapid, accurate assessment of language skills in English, French, German and Spanish.
Fully aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), the six level scale established by the Council of Europe, it can be delivered online, computer based or on paper – all of which can help EADS succeed in the European and international environments in which it operates.
Deshini Chetty, Global Manager for workplace assessment at Cambridge ESOL explains: “More and more businesses like EADS are heading for integrated language learning with a robust assessment tool such as BULATS. Our mission is to ensure that we continue to provide fit for purpose exams to all of our customers, with EADS being no exception. We recognise that in order to do so, we will need to continue working closely with EADS to review and adapt the test accordingly.”
